Welcome to 2026! We have some exciting news…..
Welcome to 2026! Hopefully the New Year and holidays period was kind to everyone. There are also those that this is a difficult period for and can bring up mixed emotions, as well as reminders of anniversaries.
We will be taking new clients on in 2026 with after hours and some weekend based capacity. This can be via telehalth, or possible to arrange if face to face rooms are free. This year will be interesting due to changes within the different systems, such as education, health and shifts and reforms from the NDIS to the Thrieving Kids program.
We will be looking to support more neurodiverse clients with our PEERS social skills program. This is a program that is done over 16 weeks and can be done from ages 4 and up, to provide social skills training to those who would benefit from improving their relational peer networks.
This program is also aimed at supporting parents with difficulties to improve social skills in their children, via a coach based system. However, for adolescents and adults it can easily be done with peer support workers to enhance the skills in day to day interactions. This program is largely geared toward motivated indivuals wanting to increase their social connections.
Modifications can be made for people with learning barreiers and even extended, so a wide range of people will benefit. Most of all, is is extremely nueor affirming in it’s approach, with the ability to choose what aspects of the course people may prefer over others. As let us face it, not everyone is natraully socially! I even get a little anxious in bigger or unfamiliar crowds. Then, we often see others who are very social (butterflies they may call them!) who effortlessly conenct and have a much bigger ‘social battery’. This can also be exhausting due to feeling the need to mask.
This program can be devliered online or face to face, and is one of the only evidence based programs of it’s kind. It has ample research into the efficacy of the program. A variation was made for dating, where the creator was even the coach in season one of Dating on the Spectrum!
The program combines fun, serirousness and connection all into one, yet it can be modified to suite inidivual needs, too! If this is something that interests you, a school or organsiation, please reach out to discuss things further.
